The Village Inn’s stay side runs fourteen ensuite bedrooms upstairs from the pub-restaurant on Shore Road in Arrochar. The position is straightforward: the village’s CAMRA-recognised inn at the foot of the Arrochar Alps with Loch Long across the front street, a full pub-restaurant operation downstairs, and the practical kit of a village inn that takes the walking trade seriously.
All fourteen rooms are ensuite, all are styled in traditional classic shape with comfortable double accommodation, and the front-facing rooms carry the loch view. The room kit is the standard inn fare (television, tea-and-coffee tray) and the rooms work for one-night Arrochar Alps base stays as much as for longer Loch Lomond bases. Drying space is available for walkers coming back wet off the hill (the Cobbler, Beinn Narnain, Beinn Ime and the Loch Sloy round all leave from within a short drive).
The kitchen and bar are open through the day; the head chef runs a Scottish-fayre and seafood menu with daily local produce, and the pub is one of the CAMRA-recognised cask-ale stops on the west side of Loch Lomond. Live music plays through the season at weekends.
Bookings by phone on +44 (0)1301 702279, by email to info@thevillageinnarrochar.co.uk, or via the Village Inn website. The inn is on Shore Road in Arrochar, Argyll, G83 7AX.
