The Boathouse Restaurant

The Boathouse Restaurant sits inside the Loch Tay Highland Lodges leisure park at Milton Morenish, four miles north of Killin on the road to Aberfeldy. The position is the operational asset: picture windows down the length of the dining room give a continuous view across Loch Tay, and the sun decks outside extend the same view to outdoor seating through the summer. The restaurant works as the social hub of the wider park (a separate listing in this guide) but opens to non-residents through the year as a destination in its own right.

The kitchen runs an extensive menu using the freshest ingredients from locally sourced produce. Plates work through snacks and bar lunches at the lighter end into fuller evening meals at the heavier end, with the operation running as a working pub-restaurant rather than as a special-occasion table. The bar carries the standard Highland selection of cask ales, malt whiskies and house wines.

Opening hours flex with the day. The restaurant runs Sundays through Thursdays from eleven in the morning through to eleven at night, and Fridays and Saturdays through to twelve-thirty in the morning, covering both the lunch trade and the late-evening park-resident drinking. Bookings are advisable for evening tables through the summer; non-residents are welcome through the door without prior arrangement at quieter times.

The wider park sits across one hundred and forty private acres on the loch shore beneath Ben Lawers, with on-park activities running from clay-pigeon shooting and fishing through to RIB boat rides and river rafting (all bookable through the park directly).
