Caulders Garden Centre Loch Lomond

Caulders Garden Centre Loch Lomond is the garden centre and cafe on Stirling Road, half a mile east of Balloch on the A811 towards Drymen and Stirling. The site traded for years as Loch Lomond Homes and Gardens before being taken on by Caulders, the Scottish family-owned garden-centre group that runs a string of centres across the central belt; the operation keeps the same practical shape of plant and home retail floors with a working cafe attached.

The cafe runs through the day with light lunches, soups, baked potatoes, sandwiches, teas and coffees, and a home-baking counter that turns over fast through the weekend trade. Plates are garden-centre-cafe rather than fine-dining; the appeal is the combination of a quick stop on the A811 with a substantial enough food offer to anchor a longer browse through the plant tables and home retail floors.

The cafe seats both inside and out, with the outside terrace looking back towards the gardens themselves. Coach parties stop here as a scheduled morning-coffee or afternoon-tea break between Loch Lomond and the Trossachs, and the cafe handles the volume without losing the home-baking character. Families with children find the playground at the back of the garden centre a useful release between courses.
