Myrtle Bank Hotel

Myrtle Bank is the owner-run seafront hotel on Low Road at Gairloch, set on the rising ground above the harbour and looking out across Gairloch Bay toward the Skye horizon. The position is the hotel’s main draw: the front bedrooms have an open sea view across the bay, with the Longa Island and the Skye Cuillin on the southern skyline when the weather lifts.

The hotel is a medium-sized owner-operated business, fifteen or so rooms across two floors, all en-suite, a separate restaurant and a working lounge bar that pulls a steady local trade as well as resident custom. The dining-room menu leans on the standard west-coast pattern: Loch Gairloch shellfish, Highland beef and lamb, the usual seasonal vegetables, with a daily-changing card backed by a longer regular menu. The bar carries a substantial Scottish whisky list and a working draught beer range, with the wood-burner working through the colder months.

Low Road runs along the seafront below the main A832 through the village, which puts Myrtle Bank a short walk from the harbour at one end and the village shops at the other. Walking distance to the Gairloch Museum, the Gale Centre and the working centre of the village.
