Port Beag Chalets is a small set of family-run self-catering chalets at Althandhu on the Coigach coast, a mile north of Achiltibuie along the single-track road that loops the peninsula. The position is the main draw: each chalet has a sea view across Badentarbat Bay to the Summer Isles, Tanera Mòr in the foreground, Tanera Beag and Priest Island strung out behind, with the Coigach hills (Ben Mor Coigach, Cul Beag and the back of Stac Pollaidh) rising behind the chalets to the east.
The chalets themselves are pitched at the standard west-coast self-catering pattern: detached timber-clad units, two or three bedrooms each, decked porches facing the water, the basic working domestic kit (kitchen, bathroom, woodburner or stove). Dog-friendly as a house policy. The setting is a working crofting community, neighbours are scattered along the road, the township is quiet, and the road in from Achiltibuie is the same single-track loop that carries on round through Polbain to Reiff at the far end.
Coigach as a stay-base is genuinely off the main route. Ullapool is 25 miles away by the only road; the A835 is the spine of the north-west, but Coigach is a 15-mile single-track detour off it. The detour rewards: the landscape is the cnoc-and-lochan country that defines the area, and the Summer Isles are the headline view.
