Ardmair Point Holiday Park sits on the shingle bay at Ardmair, three miles north of Ullapool on the A835 toward Lochinver. The position is the main draw: a curving beach of pale shingle and grey sand, sheltered by the headland to the north, with the Summer Isles strung out across the water to the west. The park’s pitches and pods run back from the foreshore on a level terrace; tents pitch closest to the water, caravans on hard-standings further back, and a row of self-catering pods occupies the upper terrace with the view over the bay.

Facilities are the usual small-park set, service block with toilets and showers, water and waste, hook-ups for the caravan pitches, and a seasonal café-and-shop at the entrance. The road in is straightforward off the A835. Ardmair is close enough to Ullapool to walk into town along the loch shore in around an hour, but far enough out to keep the seaside-pitch feel that the town’s harbour-front campsites can’t.

The bay itself is a working anchorage. Local boats and the occasional yacht ride to moorings off the shingle, and the launch ramp at the south end is the start point for sea-kayakers heading out to the Summer Isles. The Coigach peninsula is twenty minutes further north for visitors using Ardmair as a Coigach base rather than an Ullapool one.

Seasonal opening, typically March/April to October. Current rates and availability at the Ardmair Point website.
