The Caledonian Hotel sits on Ullapool’s Quay Street, on the loch-facing row that runs north from the harbour past the ferry terminal. The position is the active one for Ullapool: rooms on the front look directly across Loch Broom to the hills on the south shore, and the CalMac terminal for the Stornoway ferry is a five-minute walk away.
The hotel is part of the Bespoke Hotels West Coast collection, sister property to the Gairloch Hotel further south on the same coast. Rooms cover a range from standard sea-view doubles to family rooms and suites, geared to a mix of holidaymakers, ferry-night stayovers heading to or from Lewis, and short-stay business and commercial traffic.
Three food and drink spaces operate from the same building. The Caley Inn is the contemporary bar and dining room, opening late afternoon and running through the evening with a menu of local seafood, pizzas and burgers. The daytime Coffee Shop covers sandwiches, soups, baking and barista coffee from mid-morning. The Mackenzie Restaurant runs as the residents’ breakfast room and opens for non-resident dining on a more limited schedule.
Parking is on Quay Street and on the harbour side opposite the hotel; the village high street and the seafront cafés and food trucks are a two-minute walk away. Bookings and current room availability at the Bespoke Hotels website.
