Craigton Cottages sit on a working farm above the village of Luss, half a mile uphill from the Loch Lomond shore on the west side of the A82. The Scott family run the three cottages as the self-catering side of the farm; the position carries the conservation-village proximity of Luss without sitting on the busy A82 itself.

The three properties are: Quarry Cottage, sleeping four (one king-size en-suite double, one twin, family bathroom); Piper’s Cottage, sleeping six (king-size double with shower room, two twins, family bathroom); and Cruach Dubh, sleeping eight (two king-size en-suite doubles, one en-suite twin, one twin with family bathroom). All three were newly built rather than farmhouse-conversion, and all three carry the same bright open-plan layout with a wood-burning stove in the lounge, full kitchen, television and DVD in each room, and wifi covering the property.

Weekly rates at the time of writing run from £500 off-peak to £800 peak for the four-berth, £650 to £1000 for the six-berth, and £800 to £1200 for the eight-berth. The cottages let individually or as one larger eighteen-person block for family parties and small working retreats. Outside there is a private patio with barbecue space and the working farm fields running away from the door.

Luss village and the pier are five minutes’ drive down the hill; Glasgow is thirty minutes south on the A82. Bookings by phone on 01389 850289 (Morag Scott) or 07796 606 321, or by email to morag.scott@btinternet.com.
