Almardon Bed & Breakfast

Almardon sits on Leny Road at the western edge of Callander, a five-minute walk from the village centre and immediately adjacent to the Meadows Park and the River Teith. The address is also on the line of National Cycle Route 7 (Carlisle to Inverness via the Trossachs), which makes the house a regular overnight stop for end-to-end cyclists working the western half of the route.

The accommodation is a small bed-and-breakfast operation in a private house. Rooms are double or twin, all en-suite, with the standard kit of refreshment tray, iron, hairdryer and television. Continental and full Scottish breakfasts both come off the house’s own kitchen rather than off a buffet. Private parking is on the property.

The location is one of the practical strengths of staying here. The Bracklinn Falls walk leaves from the eastern end of Callander Main Street and runs up to the falls in about thirty minutes; the Callander Crags walk climbs to the viewpoint behind the village in around an hour. The Meadows Park and the river riverside path next door give a flatter shorter loop straight from the door. Loch Lubnaig and the start of the Rob Roy Way are a short drive north on the A84.
