Inver Lodge Hotel

Inver Lodge sits above Lochinver Bay on the south side of the loch, looking west toward the Atlantic and south-east across the village to Suilven. It’s the country-house end of the Lochinver stay options, a hotel rather than a B&B, with rooms, a full dining room, a bar and a setting that is genuinely scenic by Highland hotel standards. The building is set back from Iolaire Road in its own grounds, with the windows on the seaward side giving an open view down to the harbour.

The hotel is open seasonally, typically late spring through autumn, closed in winter, which is normal for hotels at this latitude on the west coast. The dining room (Chez Roux, run in association with the Albert Roux name) takes its supply from the Lochinver fishing fleet and the surrounding crofts and shoots; the menu changes with the catch and the season. Lochinver landings are predominantly white fish, monkfish, langoustine and prawn off the local boats, what comes ashore at the pier is on the menu the same evening.

For visitors using Lochinver as a touring base for the Assynt mountains and the Sutherland coast, Inver Lodge is the most-comfortable of the village’s roof-and-dinner options, alongside An Cala Bunkhouse for budget travellers and a small selection of B&Bs along the shore road.
