Mansefield House, Arrochar

Mansefield House sits on the shore of Loch Long in Arrochar, a Victorian house with large private gardens running down to the water and an uninterrupted view across the loch to the Arrochar Alps on the far side. The position is one of the strongest accommodation positions in the village, with the loch frontage and the open hill views both immediately off the door.

The house carries the homely character of an extended family home: large rooms, period detail throughout, and a layout that works for groups travelling together. Comfortable accommodation runs to twelve people across the bedrooms, making this one of the larger guest-house operations on the west side of Loch Lomond and a regular choice for walking groups, family parties and small working retreats. All bedrooms are ensuite, and modern amenities sit through the house alongside the period feel.

The position works for several Arrochar Alps approaches: the Cobbler (Ben Arthur), the round of Beinn Narnain and Beinn Ime, and the longer Loch Sloy hill day all start from the village or within a short drive. Walkers are explicitly welcome, with drying space and the practical understanding of arriving wet that this implies. Loch Lomond proper is two miles east via Tarbet on the A83 and A82 connection, and Glasgow is forty-five minutes south on the A83 and A82.
