Inchgowan Fine Art is a working studio and gallery on Flowerdale Bay at the southern end of Gairloch village, in the cluster of houses behind Flowerdale House and the Old Inn. The gallery is the working studio of its resident artist; visitors are welcomed by appointment or on the regular open days through the season, and the studio space combines the practical apparatus of the working artist (easels, paints, drying racks) with the retail walls of a small gallery.
The output is anchored on the surrounding Wester Ross landscape: the Gairloch sands south to Strath, the Flowerdale woodland behind the house, the An Teallach skyline across the Bay, the long views across Loch Gairloch toward Skye. The work is mostly oils and watercolours of the local hills, coast and sea; limited-edition prints of selected pieces are sold alongside the original work, and commissions on local subjects are taken across the year.
Flowerdale Bay itself is a small inlet on the south side of Gairloch with a short shingle beach and a footpath up the Flowerdale Glen to the falls, a good lower-glen walk for visitors based in the village. The gallery is two minutes’ walk from the Old Inn at the bay.
Open by appointment and on advertised open days; current schedule at the Inchgowan website.
